Grand Tour Oh-Ten (part III)

eesh.  i never posted part 3!  here it is in a nutshell:

Post-Glacier, Day 8:
I'll be your Huckleberry.

We definitely had Huckleberry pie for breakfast after leaving Glacier.  Then we ate this pint over cereal.

Have you ever enjoyed these tasty treats?  Dan describes them as tasting like a blackberry, but without the seeds.  Need I say more?

Day 9:
Dan recovered from his loss at the championship putting course in Leavenworth, WA and then made a new friend.

We met up with friends for an evening of fun on Orcas and Lopez Islands, in the San Juans.  Not fair to have so little time.  I'm hoping we return soon!

Day 10:
The coastal drive from Seattle to Jacksonville, OR may be better done in either two segments or at least by daylight.  =)  Sometime I will actually see the northern coast of Oregon.  Of course we stopped at the Tillamook factory store/museum.  I wasn't exactly a cheese lover until Dan introduced me to the finer things in life.  You can't exactly marry a swiss citizen and NOT love cheese.  Oh, and they make fantastic ice cream too.  We only got single scoops, since 10 gallons might have melted in the car.

Followed by two fantastic days with the Arnold/Doyle clan, we were happy campers...  and not even just because we were sleeping in a real bed, enjoying a concert at the Brit and dinners with family. Wakeboarding and tubing turn out to be great ways to cap off a road trip while clearing your mind and your sinuses.

That was August. =)
